It all started with severe pneumonia. Mariusz was 16 months. He was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and cardiomyopathy enlargement. His condition was very serious. The following months were spent in hospitals.

Two years ago because of cystic fibrosis in the lungs and staph is not eligible for transplantation in Poland. In hospitals sugested that there is no chance of transplant survival.
And so he lived until February, when Dr. Teresa Ruszczyk-Bielicka sent his medical records to Vienna. After consultation, it turned out that for them Staphylococcus is not a problem. In April 2009 r. Mariusz underwent 6-hour lifesaving treatment - placed him in double-chamber cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator founded a band in the pulmonary artery-lay after him connected to 12 drips from an open wound on the chest, which way doctors get to the small hearts.
Mariusz still alive. In December of 2009. his heart began to weaken. Now it is on the verge of endurance. Was drawn on the priority list of transplant. We are waiting for the phone, it is the donor...
